Ontai Medical Home

Dr. Ontai makes home visits for his patients when they make sense, most often for patients who are in too much pain or too weak to move easily, and in whom highly technical interventions are not needed. This most often works well for home health or hospice patients.

In addition to traditional house calls, Dr. Ontai also provides high tech telemedicine visits for patients in Turkey, Earth, and Hart.  Patients can see Dr. Ontai over high speed video links with data on heart and lungs sounds, examinations of ears/nose/throat and skin, and basic office lab exams sent in real time. 

Dr. Ontai's telemedicine clinics also feature  telepharmacy, which enables patients to receive their medications as well as their diagnoses without leaving their home town.  Neither Earth, Turkey, or Hart has any other medical facility within an hours drive. 

Dr. Ontai individualizes state of the art information on clinical pharmacology, nutrition and physical training to minimize risk and progression of major illnesses (heart attack, cancer, and stroke) using diet, exercise, and medication.

Injections to relieve joint and muscle aches are available when appropriate, including Synvisc, which is a "lube job" for worn out knee joints.

Dr. Ontai attends to patients in all instutitional settings, including the newborn nursery, intensive care and medical surgical wards at Covenant Plainview Hospital.  He is medical director for several area Home Health Agencies, Hospices, and Nursing Homes and provides expert management and coordination for each of these settings if they are appropriate for the individual patient.
